1.- Filing information – Jamaica Patent

For Convention Applications or Direct Applications

• Our filled out patent order form.
• Copy of the specification of invention including claims and drawings.
• English translation (Specifications and Priority document).
• Declaration of Inventor in favor of the applicant, if applicant is different than the inventor
• Certified Priority Document with application number and country of origin.

The Patent Holder is protected for a period of 14 years. A further term of seven years may be granted.

Where products have already been patented in a foreign country they can still be patented in Jamaica so long as the period of patent protection in the foreign country has not expired and the Patent applicant is the patentee or his assignee in respect of the foreign Patent. In this case the Jamaican Patent would last as long as the foreign Patent remains valid.
